Job description

Summary

We are looking for data scientists to build and advance risk management solutions at Envisso, a global fintech focused on monitoring and mitigating merchant risk in payments. The role involves solving new data challenges, working with a team building from scratch, and making an impact on the business and customers. We are remote-first with a preference for proximity to Singapore or the UK for face-to-face sessions. Envisso fosters a collaborative, flexible, and inclusive culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Use advanced analytics alongside, where necessary, account-level reviews to monitor and assess portfolios of our partners to understand existing and emerging risks.
• Build, implement and monitor new predictive rules and models to expand our capability in accurately understanding merchant risk.
• Liaise with payments firms and insurers to understand their needs and help shape market-ready solutions.

Role Requirements

• 1-3 years experience conducting portfolio analysis in Python and extracting/manipulating data in SQL
• 1-3 years experience in consulting and/or start-up environments
• Commercial acumen and an understanding of the economics underpinning credit or payments portfolios
• Able to work autonomously with strong judgement and proactivity

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with supervised models (e.g. logistic regression, gradient boosting) and unsupervised methods (e.g. clustering, anomaly detection)
• Experience in a role embedded within a risk team (fraud, credit or similar)
• Professional experience in the financial services industry
• LLM prompt management or agentic experience
• Ability to understand overall company economics and read financial statements

Note: The nice-to-have qualifications are not mandatory but would be considered as additional strengths for the role.
