Job summary

TikTok Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Privacy Validation Engineer to help build scalable verification platforms that measure data protection across the technology stack, including mobile apps, web frontend, backend services, and data pipelines.

You will collaborate with engineering, legal, compliance, and data governance teams to design end-to-end data retention validation, automate privacy checks, and drive measurable improvements in privacy protection and project quality.

Qualifications

• BS/MS degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Cybersecurity.
• Fundamental knowledge of distributed systems and data protection concepts, including encryption, access control, auditing, and data handling.
• Testing experience across frontend, backend, and data/infrastructure layers, not limited to one platform.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify privacy or data protection risks.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with global teams (engineering, legal, compliance, data governance).
• Interest in privacy protection and end-to-end quality assurance across the tech stack.

Responsibilities

• Build automated privacy verification systems to assess data protection controls across TikTok's technology ecosystem.
• Design end-to-end verification of data protection requirements, focusing on data retention across data collection, transmission, storage, processing, and deletion.
• Develop privacy validation capabilities to verify data protection policies across systems and pipelines.
• Design, develop, and execute functional testing for privacy-related features across mobile apps, web frontend, backend services, and data processing pipelines.
• Develop test automation and internal frameworks, collaborating with automation and performance testing teams to improve coverage and scalability.
• Collaborate with engineering, legal, compliance, and data governance teams to identify systemic risks and provide actionable privacy insights.
