Job summary

Sun Venture Pte. Ltd. in Singapore seeks a Data Platform Manager to own the enterprise risk and portfolio analytics platform, working with Head of Performance & Risk, investment users, custodians, data providers and the vendor.

You will design and operate the data platform architecture, build automated pipelines, manage go-live and production processes, and translate technical updates into business terms for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, Financial Engineering, Information Systems or related quantitative discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 6–10 years of relevant technology or data engineering experience in financial services (investment management, asset management, or fintech).
• Experience implementing or supporting an enterprise risk or portfolio analytics platform (buy-side, asset owner, or vendor-side) is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience designing relational data models and analytics data warehouses for financial reference and analytics data.
• Experience building and operating automated data pipelines (ETL/ELT, SFTP) for financial data with limited engineering support.
• Familiarity with investment data concepts: holdings/positions, pricing, NAV, benchmarks, & OTC derivative terms.
• Understanding of enterprise risk platforms such as BlackRock Aladdin or BarraOne.
• Strong ownership, ability to work independently as the sole tech authority in a lean team.
• Excellent stakeholder and vendor communication to translate technical issues into business impact.

Responsibilities

• Own the overall architecture and design of the Performance and Risk data platform, including relational data models and analytics data warehouse.
• Design, build, operate and improve automated file-based and API data pipelines with embedded governance and quality controls.
• Lead the technical delivery of risk platform implementation, including interface design, configuration, user access, UAT, parallel runs, and go-live.
• Own the nightly production processes, platform monitoring, release management, and vendor support to ensure reliable operations.
• Act as the technical interface to investment stakeholders and the vendor, translating technical matters into clear business updates.

Main Responsibilities:

As a member of the Performance and Risk team, the Data Platform Manager will serve as the firm’s primary technical authority for its enterprise risk and portfolio analytics platform. Working closely with the Head of Performance & Risk, investment users, custodians, data providers, and the platform vendor, the role owns the end-to-end technical delivery of the platform implementation and its ongoing operation. Key responsibilities include:

• Owning the overall architecture and design of the Performance and Risk data platform, including relational data models for security reference data, holdings and portfolio structures, and the analytics data warehouse.
• Designing, building, operating and improving automated file-based and API data pipelines from internal systems, custodians, data vendors and service providers with embedded data quality, reconciliation and governance controls.
• Leading the technical delivery of the risk platform implementation, including interface design, system configuration, user access management, UAT, parallel runs, and controlled go-live.
• Owning the ongoing nightly production process, platform monitoring, release management, and vendor support to maintain reliable steady-state operations.
• Acting as the technical interface to investment stakeholders and the platform vendor, translating technical matters into clear business-language updates and supporting the risk team’s reporting and ad hoc data needs.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, Financial Engineering, Information Systems, or a related quantitative discipline; equivalent professional experience may be considered
• Minimum 6–10 years of relevant technology or data engineering experience in financial services (investment management, asset management, or financial technology)
• Direct experience implementing or supporting an enterprise risk or portfolio analytics platform (buy‑side, asset owner, or vendor‑side implementation specialist) strongly preferred
• Hands‑on experience designing relational data models and analytics data warehouses for financial reference and analytics data
• Proven ability to build and operate automated data pipelines (ETL/ELT, SFTP) for financial data without a large supporting engineering team
• Familiarity with investment data concepts: holdings/positions, security identifiers, pricing, NAV, benchmarks, and OTC derivative terms
• Understanding of enterprise risk platforms such as BlackRock Aladdin, MSCI BarraOne, or equivalent
• Strong ownership and accountability, with demonstrated ability to work independently as the sole technology authority in a lean team environment
• Excellent stakeholder and vendor communication skills, with the ability to translate technical issues into business impact
