Job summary

Chanel in Singapore is seeking a Data Platform and Engineering Manager to design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines, curated datasets and semantic models that enable trusted reporting, analytics and future AI-enabled data products.

The role collaborates with Data Product, Stewardship, Analytics and Data Science teams to translate business priorities into robust data solutions, deliver hands-on reporting and BI capabilities, and ensure data governance and trusted foundations for

Qualifications

• Experience designing and maintaining data ingestion pipelines.
• Strong data modelling and semantic layer design.
• Proficient SQL and modern data platforms (Databricks, Fabric).

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain data pipelines to ingest data from divisions, functions and enterprise systems into the data platform.
• Ensure pipelines are scalable, reliable and monitored for timeliness, completeness and quality.
• Partner with IT, global data teams and local stakeholders to understand source structures and integration constraints.
• Support automation and industrialisation of recurring data ingestion processes to reduce manual effort and risk.
• Translate business data requirements into structured, reusable data models.
• Build semantic layers that enable consistent KPI definitions across dashboards and AI-enabled solutions.
• Develop curated datasets and data marts for BI, analytics and AI use cases.
• Design data models with reusability and future productisation in mind.
• Partner with Data Product, Stewardship and AI teams to translate use cases into technical data requirements.
• Prepare clean, structured datasets to support dashboards and analytics.
• Collaborate with data visualization, analytics and data science teams to meet downstream needs.
• Support root-cause analysis when data issues arise.
• Design, build and maintain dashboards, reports and analytical views for decision-making.
• Translate reporting needs into clear report logic and data structures.
• Validate outputs with stakeholders and ensure trusted data foundations.
• Support report performance optimisation and automation.
• Ensure reports are built on governed data models and consistent KPI definitions.
• Implement data quality checks and governance practices.
• Maintain documentation on data lineage, transformation logic and model dependencies.
