Job summary

Ambition Singapore is partnering with a leading global hedge fund to hire a Data Operations Engineer in Singapore. You will monitor data pipelines, investigate data quality issues, and identify anomalies to ensure reliability and performance of critical data platforms.

You will enhance observability, build automation, and continuously improve monitoring tools and processes to increase resilience, scalability and efficiency of the data ecosystem, collaborating with global engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Strong technical foundation with experience working with data platforms.
• Hands-on experience building automation solutions and improving operational processes.
• Focus on enhancing platform reliability through automation, testing, and standardisation.
• Experience programming in Python or another modern language (e.g., Java, Go, C#, Scala).
• Strong SQL skills with large-scale data and data analysis tools (Pandas, Snowflake, Elasticsearch/Kibana).
• Experience with orchestration/data workflow technologies (Airflow, Dagster, Argo, Spark, Hive).
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes in containerized environments.
• Excellent troubleshooting and methodical problem-solving for production issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with global engineering teams.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of the firm’s critical data platforms by monitoring data pipelines, investigating data quality issues, and identifying anomalies. The role also focuses on enhancing observability, building automation, and continuously improving monitoring tools and processes to increase the resilience, scalability, and efficiency of the data ecosystem.

Requirements

• Strong technical foundation with experience working with data platforms

• A strong focus on enhancing platform reliability, availability, and resilience through automation, testing, and standardisation.
• Experience programming in Python or another modern language such as Java, Go, C#, or Scala.
