A global consulting firm in Singapore is seeking an experienced Data Governance Lead to implement and drive their data governance framework across Asia. This role is crucial for ensuring data quality, lineage, and compliance standards are met. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and over 5 years of experience in data governance. Proficiency in Microsoft Purview and Databricks is essential, along with strong stakeholder management skills. Fluent English and Mandarin are required.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in data governance, data management, or analytics roles.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles – lineage, quality, metadata, stewardship.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, PDPA) is a plus.
  • Fluency in English as well as Mandarin.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Data Governance Lead to drive the implementation and adoption of our data governance framework across Asia. This role ensures data quality, lineage, and compliance standards are consistently met, enabling trusted and well-managed data across the global business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain data governance standards, policies, and frameworks across regional markets.
  • Define and oversee data lineage, quality, and metadata management to ensure accuracy and transparency of enterprise data.
  • Implement and optimize Microsoft Purview and Databricks Unity Catalog for data cataloging, lineage, and quality monitoring.
  • Partner with data owners, stewards, and engineering teams to embed governance controls into data pipelines and projects.
  • Monitor compliance with governance standards and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in data governance, data management, or analytics roles.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles — lineage, quality, metadata, stewardship.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview and Databricks.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across regional or multi-country environments.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, PDPA) is a plus.
  • Fluency in English as well as Mandarin would be required for this role
