Data Engineering Lead - Dorothy M.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Data Engineering Lead to spearhead the design, implementation, and management of our data platform and advanced analytics initiatives. This role is pivotal in shaping robust operational workflows, building efficient data pipelines, and ensuring best practices are upheld in alignment with the infrastructure and security standards. Your leadership will ensure our platforms remain secure, reliable, and high-performing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end delivery of data platform projects, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and timely achievement of project milestones.

• Oversee the full lifecycle of data platform projects—from requirements gathering through data modeling, architecture design, and deployment.

• Manage and optimize data pipelines, storage systems, and data access to maintain high data accuracy and availability.

• Design and develop data models, dashboards, and reports to support decision-making and operational efficiency.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and success criteria

• Create and maintain detailed project plans covering timelines, resources, and interdependencies.

• Track project progress, identify potential risks, and implement proactive mitigation strategies.

• Coordinate across cross-functional teams, ensuring clear communication, collaboration, and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

• Serve as the primary liaison for both internal and external stakeholders, providing updates and addressing issues as needed.

• Facilitate key project meetings including kick-offs, progress reviews, and post-project evaluations.

• Champion the adoption of project management best practices, tools, and frameworks to drive efficiency.

• Partner with data stewards and analysts to build batch and real-time data pipelines from enterprise systems.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• 8 years of hands-on experience with modern data platforms including Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, AWS Lake Formation, and SQL databases.

• Deep knowledge in data architecture, data modeling, data governance, and business intelligence.

• Proven experience working with cloud-based platforms and SaaS providers.

• Strong grasp of Agile, Scrum, or other project management methodologies.

• PMP certification and/or architecture frameworks such as TOGAF are advantageous.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present to and influence C-level stakeholders.
