Job summary

Empower Partners Singapore is hiring a Data Engineer to build and own the investment risk and portfolio analytics infrastructure in a newly created role with strong ownership. You will lead the design of data models, data warehouses and end-to-end data pipelines while coordinating with investment teams, data vendors and external partners.

Job description

I am partnering with an established Singapore-based investment platform to hire a Data Engineer to support the build-out of its investment risk and portfolio analytics infrastructure. This is a newly created role with strong ownership, visibility and the opportunity to shape the data foundation for investment decision-making across a multi-asset portfolio.

The Role

You will own the technical delivery and ongoing operation of an enterprise risk and portfolio analytics platform, working closely with investment, performance, risk, custodians, data providers and external vendors. Key responsibilities include:

• Design investment data models, data warehouses and platform workflows
• Build automated data pipelines across internal systems, custodians and data vendors
• Establish data quality, reconciliation and monitoring controls
• Support platform implementation, UAT, access management, parallel runs and go-live
• Act as the technical bridge between business users and external vendors
• Oversee production monitoring and steady-state platform operations
• Drive automation and future platform enhancement opportunities

Requirements

• Min. 5–8 years’ data engineering / technology experience within financial services
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance or related discipline
• Strong hands-on experience in data modelling, data warehouses and ETL pipelines
• Familiarity with investment data terminologies (e.g. NAV, OTC derivatives, holdings, etc.)
• Prior exposure to risk, portfolio analytics or investment platforms highly advantageous
• Able to operate independently as the main technical owner in a lean team
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical matters clearly to business stakeholders
• Grounded, practical and comfortable managing external vendors and internal business stakeholders
