Job summary

SCIENTE INTERNATIONAL PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks a detail-oriented Data Engineer / Data Migration Analyst to support enterprise data migration, reporting transformation, and data quality initiatives across legacy systems and modern platforms.

You will analyze datasets, develop ETL pipelines, map source-to-target data, and ensure accurate migration of reporting datasets to the new data platform, using SQL, Hive, Impala, and Hadoop tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in Data Engineering, ETL, Data Warehousing, Reporting, or Data Migration.
• Strong SQL development and data manipulation skills.
• Proficiency in SAS and/or Python scripting.
• Hands-on experience with Hue, Hive, Impala, Oozie.
• Experience with large and complex datasets and relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing tables, reports, datasets, and data processing workflows from legacy data marts.
• Review SQL scripts, transformation logic, business rules, and data dependencies.
• Identify source systems, data lineage, reporting requirements, and current-state data processes.
• Collaborate with business users to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Perform source-to-target mapping between legacy data marts and new enterprise data marts.
• Document mappings, transformation logic, and business rules.
• Develop and maintain SQL scripts using Hive and Impala via Hue.
• Build data extraction, transformation, validation, and reporting processes.
• Rebuild reporting datasets and data preparation workflows in the new data marts.
• Perform reconciliation between legacy outputs and new platform results.
• Validate data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness.
• Involvement in documentation and data governance.

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Engineer / Data Migration Analyst to support enterprise data migration and reporting transformation initiatives, in a renowned bank. The successful candidate will analyze legacy data assets, develop and optimize data processing solutions, perform source-to-target mapping, and ensure the successful migration of reporting datasets to modern data platforms.

Mandatory Skill-set

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline;
• Must have minimum 3 years' experience in Data Engineering, ETL Development, Data Warehousing, Reporting, Data Migration, or a related field;
• Strong SQL development and data manipulation skills;
• Proficiency in SAS and/or Python scripting;
• Hands-on experience with Hue, Hive,Impala, Oozie;
• Experience in data warehousing, ETL development, data engineering, or data migration projects;
• Experience working with large and complex datasets;
• Strong understanding of relational databases, SQL optimization, and data modelling concepts.

Desired Skill-set

• Experience working with Hadoop ecosystem technologies;
• Exposure to enterprise reporting transformation, data modernization, or migration programs;
