Qualifications

• Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Experience in data modelling for analytics (star schema, dimensional modelling).

Responsibilities

Role: Data Engineer – AWS, BI Dashboards, Tableau, BI Tools (Power BI, QuickSight)

What You'll Do:

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with business units across the organization to understand their dataand reporting needs
• Facilitate requirements workshops and interviews to document datarequirements, KPIs, and reporting use cases
• Translate business requirements into clear data specifications for the dataengineering team
• Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the technicaldata platform team

Data Transformation & Modelling

• Design and develop data transformation logic to prepare curated datasets forreporting and analytics consumption
• Build and maintain data models in Amazon Redshift or the curated/consumptionzone of the Data Lake
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness for all reportingdatasets
• Apply data quality checks and validation rules to support trustworthybusiness insights

Dashboard & Visualisation Development

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Tableau(connected via Amazon Redshift or S3)
• Create near-real-time operational dashboards, ad-hoc analysis views, andscheduled reports tailored to business unit needs
• Ensure dashboards are intuitive and accessible for non-technical end users
• Iterate on dashboard designs based on user feedback and evolving businessrequirements

Data Catalogue & Documentation

• Document data definitions, business glossary terms, and dashboard logic inthe AWS Glue Data Catalogue
• Maintain clear documentation of data sources, transformation logic, andreport specifications
• Support self-service analytics by enabling business users to discover andaccess data independently

Requirements

Essential

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a data engineering, business intelligence,or data analyst role
• Proficiency in SQL for data querying, transformation, and modelling
• Hands-on experience with Tableau or equivalent BI tools (Power BI,QuickSight) for dashboard development
• Experience working with cloud data platforms (AWS preferred — AmazonRedshift, S3, AWS Glue)
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability totranslate business needs into technical requirements
• Experience in data modelling for analytics (star schema, dimensionalmodelling)

Preferred

• Familiarity with Python for data transformation and automation
• Experience with AWS Glue Data Catalogue or similar metadata management tools
• Exposure to Salesforce or other SaaS data sources
• Prior experience working in a government, or public sector environment
• Understanding of data governance and data quality principles
