AgriG8 is a Singapore-based Agri-Fintech startup committed to empowering regional rice farmers by connecting them with financial institutions. As part of our ongoing journey to harness the power of AI and data, we are looking for a passionate Data Engineer to join our mission-driven team.

In this role, you’ll work with rich datasets from our farming and value chain ecosystem to unlock insights that drive meaningful innovation. You’ll design data visualizations, explore patterns, and apply mathematical models to create actionable intelligence for our partners and clients.

Your work will directly contribute to enhancing the livelihoods of smallholder farmers and promoting sustainable agriculture throughout the region.

Key Responsibilities

1. Analyze existing datasets to identify patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for value creation.
2. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and design data-driven solutions.
3. Build clear and insightful data visualizations to communicate findings effectively.
4. Develop and apply mathematical and statistical models to extract actionable insights.
5. Create and maintain dashboards and reports that support informed decision-making.
6. Design basic data pipelines for data preparation and visualization workflows.
7. Perform root-cause analysis and explore trends in agricultural data and its value chain.
8. Research and apply suitable analytical techniques to solve specific business problems.
9. Present complex findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
10. Stay up to date with the latest trends in analytics, modeling, and visualization.
11. Collaborate across cross-functional teams to embed data insights into our platforms.
12. Support development and integration of data-driven features in digital products.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical field.
• Up to 3 years of experience in data engineering, data analysis, or data science. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Strong programming skills in Python for data manipulation and analysis.
• Basic development experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, or similar languages.
• Proficiency in SQL for querying and managing data.
• Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI).
• Familiarity with statistical modelling, mathematical analysis, and drawing business insights.
• Ability to communicate complex data in an accessible and impactful way.
• Understanding of data cleaning and preparation techniques.
• Knowledge of machine learning concepts and practical applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Clear and effective communication with diverse audiences.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to data quality.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with time series analysis and forecasting methods.
• Familiarity with interactive dashboard development.
• Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience working with geospatial data.
