Data Engineer

What the day will look like
  • Work closely with product owner(s), analysts, and other developers on the requirements, design, and delivery of analytics solutions/products.
  • Design, develop, and maintain databases, ETL workloads, analytics, and visualization components of the solutions to support scalable applications and platforms.
  • Adhere to development/testing standards and processes.
  • Enhance applications by identifying opportunities for ongoing improvements, e.g., refactoring, performance tuning, and bug fixing.
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks and applications, ensuring effective operation of business systems through Level 2/3 support of application incidents, code/data fixes, testing, and release processes.
  • Track and report on progress to stakeholders, technical leads, and product owner(s).
  • Leverage existing capabilities to integrate solutions with data engineering and data analytics tools.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
  • 2 - 5 years’ experience in a Data Engineer role or equivalent.
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Strong experience with RDBMS (SQL Server).
  • Experience with Data Engineering/ETL tools such as Databricks, Snowflake, SSIS, StreamSets, etc.
  • Good knowledge of Data Modeling (e.g., star/snowflake schema).
  • Proficiency in Python and C#.
  • Experience in SQL design, tuning, stored procedures.
  • Knowledge of Data Visualization and Reporting tools like Tableau or Power BI is a plus.
  • Experience with Git, Jira, Agile Scrum methodologies is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, and a good team player.
