Job summary

AsiaOne, Singapore’s digital media platform, seeks a newsroom journalist to hunt and report compelling stories across news, lifestyle and entertainment. You will plan engaging content, monitor audience trends, and contribute across formats including articles, interviews and features.

The ideal candidate has strong writing, editorial judgment, and the ability to work in a fast-paced digital environment, including shifts and weekends. Multilingualism is a plus, with a journalism degree required.

Qualifications

• Strong news sense and ability to identify audience interests.
• Resourceful, creative, and able to work independently.
• Capable of working in a fast-paced digital environment.
• Social-media savvy with knowledge of current local/regional news.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Bonus: experience in digital media, social media management, and video journalism.
• Reads and speaks a second or third language.
• Degree in Journalism, Communications or related field.

Responsibilities

• Plan and produce compelling, unique, bold and quirky content ideas.
• Be data-driven and sensitive to audience behaviour and interests in tailoring content to complement AsiaOne as a whole.
• Cover general news, interviews and events.
• Write reviews, features and commentaries from time to time.
