Job summary

Singtel is seeking a qualified Data Centre Technician in Singapore to manage and support GPUaaS infrastructure. You will handle electrical and mechanical systems, perform hands-on maintenance, and contribute to continuous improvement in data centre operations.

The role requires a Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and a solid understanding of BMS, fire safety, and site regulations. You will collaborate with vendors and internal teams, including on-call duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or related discipline.
  • Broad understanding of data centre electrical and mechanical infrastructure, including fire safety systems and BMS.
  • Experience in maintaining and operating data centre equipment, with emphasis on electrical and mechanical.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Organised, adaptable, and able to respond to changing operational requirements.
  • Willingness to learn GPU-oriented and mission-critical data centre technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to, attend to, and elevate incidents based on defined criticality, impact, and SLAs.
  • Perform hands-on operations involving air-cooled and liquid-cooled systems, and electrical systems, within the data centre environment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for operational processes, with GPU-oriented data centre requirements in mind.
  • Coordinate and obtain necessary security clearances for visitors and vendors accessing the GPUaaS data centre.
  • Manage vendor activities and ensure compliance with WSH requirements and site regulations.
  • Participate in on-call support outside standard hours, including nights, weekends, and public holidays as required.
  • Monitor data centre facilities and infrastructure across upstream and downstream systems (power, cooling, leakage detection, environmental controls).
  • Maintain and update data centre documentation, including operational and incident reports.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical and process-related issues within the GPUaaS data centre.
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs, MOPs, and ERP procedures.
  • Apply knowledge of power and cooling for air- and liquid-cooled servers to support enhancements and capacity planning.
  • Coordinate maintenance and system shutdowns with stakeholders and vendors to ensure reliability and availability.
  • Prepare monthly Facilities Management reports on data centre health and performance.
  • Identify workplace safety and health risks within the data centre environment.
  • Conduct visual inspections of servers and cooling distribution units.
  • Perform server troubleshooting with remote engineering teams.
