Job summary

Autonomai Recruitment is seeking a Data Centre Engineer to lead a greenfield colo build in Singapore. You will design cage layouts, rack and stack equipment, and coordinate vendors to deliver a fully commissioned, low-latency trading infrastructure.

Applicants should have hands-on experience building data centre capacity from 0, with UPS/PDUs, cooling systems, CRAC, and structured cabling, plus meticulous documentation and strict safety on site.

• Commission power paths (UPS, PDUs, generators), cooling, fire systems and monitoring; validate redundancy before go-live.
• Build runbooks, as-builts, capacity models and handover documentation for 24/7 operations.
• Support early-life operations, incident response and continuous improvements once live.

Data Centre Engineer – Greenfield Colo Build (Singapore)

Leading tech trading firm | Greenfield deployment | From 0 to live

You will be building out cages in a top-tier Singapore colocation facility—from empty space to fully commissioned, low-latency trading infrastructure. We need a hands‑on Data Centre Engineer who's thrived inside a leading tech trading firm and knows exactly what it takes to stand up cages from scratch.

The Role:

• Design and implement cage layouts, power/cooling plans, and structured cabling from 0.
• Rack‑and‑stack servers, network gear, and low‑latency trading hardware to exacting standards.
• Coordinate vendors, contractors and the colo provider; drive timelines, QA and safety on site.
• Commission power paths (UPS, PDUs, generators), cooling, fire systems and monitoring; validate redundancy before go‑live.
• Build runbooks, as‑builts, capacity models and handover documentation for 24/7 operations.
• Support early-life operations, incident response and continuous improvements once live.

You:

• Have worked inside a leading tech and understand low‑latency, resilience and change control in production trading environments.
• Have built colo cages or data centre capacity from 0—design through commissioning, not just BAU ops.
• Strong in: power distribution (UPS/PDU/gensets), cooling/CRAC, structured cabling (fiber/copper), rack design and cable management.
• Comfortable managing vendors/contractors on site and holding them to trading‑floor standards.
• Calm under pressure, precise with documentation, and obsessive about uptime and risk.

Nice to have:

CDCP/CDCS, BICSI RCCD, electrical/mechanical licences, experience with DCIM/BMS, and exposure to FPGA/GPU trading infrastructure.
