Data Analyst, Captives – Actuarial & Analytic

What The Day Will Look Like

As a Captive Actuary at Aon Services Corporation, you will have a valuable opportunity to apply your expertise in a role that combines analytical precision with client collaboration. You will partner with a motivated team to prepare, evaluate, and transform insurance and exposure data for detailed risk modeling. In this role, you will perform both stochastic and deterministic analyses, underscore critical findings, and assist captives with feasibility studies, placement, and premium allocation. You will also increase efficiency by automating tasks and engage in thoughtful discussions to understand client risk profiles. This position fits someone who is ambitious and detail-conscious, dedicated to delivering flawless solutions to our clients.

  • Work together with clients and colleagues to gather insurance and exposure information for risk modelling.
  • Communicate and provide perspectives to assist projects.
  • Understand data mapping and transformations for end-to-end data flows.
  • Conduct stochastic and deterministic modeling to evaluate risks and deliver valuable insights.
  • Assist with captive feasibility studies, placement, and premium allocation models.
  • Contribute to task automation to improve efficiency.
  • Participate in client conversations to grasp their risk profiles.
  • Carry out other pertinent tasks as needed.
Skills And Experience That Will Lead To Success
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suites (Excel, Word, PPT, Access) and experience with analytical tools. Python experience preferred; additional programming skills are a plus.
  • Experience in data modelling for analytical/reporting systems, with a strong interest in data visualization.
  • Ability to use complex computer programs to coordinate, cleanse, and analyze data, and to present information clearly to clients.
  • Understanding of financial investment, the influence of risk on investing and profitability, and the capability to interpret financial ratios and company accounts.
  • Familiarity with commercial insurance policies/markets and accounting is highly advantageous.
  • Understanding of performance guidelines for data and visualization projects.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities, capable of explaining complex model findings to a non-technical audience.
