Job summary

ScienTec Consulting Pte Ltd is seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist to strengthen the security of applications, systems and cloud environments in Singapore. You will work with engineering and technology teams to identify risks, implement controls and embed secure practices throughout the development lifecycle.

The role requires hands-on experience in vulnerability assessment, threat modelling, application and cloud security, and secure software development.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information security or security engineering.
• Hands-on experience in vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, threat modelling, application security, cloud security or secure software development.
• Familiarity with security testing, vulnerability scanning and code security tools.
• Coding or scripting knowledge to identify and assess security issues in application code.

About the Role

We are looking for a Cybersecurity Specialist to strengthen the security of applications, systems and cloud environments. You will work closely with engineering and technology teams to identify security risks, implement appropriate controls and embed secure practices throughout the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain security controls and secure engineering best practices.


• Conduct threat modelling, security assessments and risk reviews to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigations.


• Perform and support vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, including validation and remediation of findings.


• Review application code, technical designs and architectures for security risks.


• Investigate security findings and incidents, supporting root cause analysis and remediation.


• Develop and improve security automation, testing tools and processes.


• Collaborate with engineering, DevOps and other teams to embed security throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 4 years of experience in cybersecurity, information security or security engineering.


• Hands-on experience in areas such as vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, threat modelling, application security, cloud security or secure software development.


• Familiarity with security testing, vulnerability scanning and code security tools.


• Coding or scripting knowledge with the ability to identify and assess security issues in application code.


• Good understanding of security risks, vulnerabilities and remediation approaches.


• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and across teams.
