Job summary

Google LLC is seeking aSecurity Consultant for Singapore remote work to help clients prepare for, mitigate, detect, and respond to cyber threats. The role leverages deep cybersecurity, OS, networking, and cloud knowledge to defend complex environments and deliver targeted education.

You may conduct forensic analysis, threat hunting, and malware triage, while training client teams and articulating technical concepts to executives and engineers alike.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience assessing and developing cybersecurity solutions across multiple security domains.
• 3 years of experience as a technical trainer or services consultant.
• 2 years of experience providing cyber intelligence briefs to technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom training to a variety of technical audiences.
• Provide support for cyber security course development efforts, including product research, subject matter expertise, and training content review.
• Create, update, and maintain slide decks and lab exercises for customer-facing training. Assist with updates for course descriptions, syllabi, and other collateral pertaining to external education.
• Coach students and assess their technical capabilities, processes, and procedures as they investigate simulated attack scenarios.
• Build effective relationships and work collaboratively within all levels of an organization.

Job description

Remote location: Singapore.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 years of experience assessing and developing cybersecurity solutions and programs across multiple security domains.
• 3 years of experience as a technical trainer/professional services consultant or equivalent technical position.
• 2 years of experience providing cyber intelligence briefs to the technical audiences.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time as required.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with delivering Instructor-Led Training (ILT) and Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) courses in cyber security-related topics (e.g., digital forensics, intrusion detection, incident response) to technical audiences.
• Experience with three or more of the following: memory forensics Network Security Monitoring (NSM), network traffic analysis, and log analysis, Unix or Linux disk and memory forensics, Static and dynamic malware analysis.
• Knowledge of one scripting language (e.g., Python).
• Understanding of enterprise security controls in Active Directory.
• Ability to grasp highly technical concepts and clearly communicate these technical concepts in live presentations.

About The Job

As a Security Consultant, you will be responsible for helping clients effectively prepare for, proactively mitigate, and detect and respond to cyber security threats. Security Consultants have an understanding of computer science, operating system functionality and networking, cloud services, corporate network environments and how to apply this knowledge to cyber security threats.

As a Security Consultant, you could work on engagements including assisting clients in navigating technically complex and high-profile incidents, performing forensic analysis, threat hunting, and malware triage. You may also test client networks, applications and devices by emulating the latest techniques to help them defend against threats, and will be the technical advocate for information security requirements and provide an in-depth understanding of the information security domain. You will also articulate and present complex concepts to business stakeholders, executive leadership, and technical contributors and successfully lead complex engagements alongside cross functional teams.

In this role, you will be responsible for aspects of both internal and external education, specifically in cyber security areas such as digital forensics and incident response. As a technical functional role, it includes training delivery, course development, and documentation support. You will work with a sense of purpose and urgency, can prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and demonstrate keen attention to detail resulting in the delivery of high-quality work products.
