Job summary

JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. is seeking a Cybersecurity Intelligence Senior Associate to join the Intelligence Operations Team within Cybersecurity & Tech Controls.

You will analyze malware affecting the firm and other global targets, build new capabilities, and mentor junior analysts as you hunt threats and synthesize intelligence. The role emphasizes designing innovative capabilities, threat hunting, and collaboration with IR teams, with focus on validating AI-derived outputs and maintaining data

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of cybersecurity intelligence or threat research experience.
  • Experience with malware analysis and reverse engineering.
  • Ability to validate AI-assisted findings and data handling requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct advanced malware analysis and reverse engineering of suspicious code, leveraging TTPs to mitigate threats.
  • Develop malware detection signatures and automate analysis processes across data sources.
  • Research threats, vulnerabilities, and exploits to enhance monitoring and detection.
  • Partner with Incident Response teams to analyze incidents and support technical analysis.
  • Document findings in comprehensive technical reports.

As a Cybersecurity Intelligence Senior Associate in Cybersecurity & Tech Controls, Intelligence Operations Team, you will be an integral member of a team that specializes in analyzing malware targeting the firm and organizations around the world, while expanding the firm's cyber monitoring capabilities into new and exciting areas. We're looking for a self-motivated junior analyst with an insatiable curiosity toward all things cyber to join our team. You'll spend a majority of your time designing, developing, and building innovative capabilities, while also hunting threats, investigating anomalies, and analyzing malware, with mentoring provided by senior members of our team.

Job responsibilities
  • Conduct advanced malware analysis and reverse engineering of suspicious code, leveraging deep expertise in cyberattack tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) to investigate, assess, and mitigate security threatsone no
  • Develop malware detection signatures, automate analysis and intelligence-gathering processes, and proactively hunt for emerging malware samples, IOCs, and adversary TTPs across diverse data sources
  • Researching threats, vulnerabilities, and exploits to enhance monitoring and detection capabilities
  • Partnering with the Incident Response (IR) teams to understand incidents and support technical analysis of malicious cyber events
  • Documenting and presenting findings in comprehensive technical analysis reports
  • Communicating effectively with business representatives, technology specialists, and vendors
  • Assisting peer analysts in the production and dissemination of intelligence reports
  • Contributing technical expertise and Cybersecurity perspectives to discussions regarding JPMC global technology infrastructure
  • Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate threat research synthesis and risk assessment documentation, validating outputs and handling data according to sensitivity and security requirements.
  • Applies reuse-first, AI-assisted approaches to improve automation in threat detection and analysis workflows, ensuring outputs are validated and aligned to security expectations.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or related disciplines
  • 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity intelligence, threat assessment, or security research, focusing on malware analysis / reverse engineering
  • Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to support threat intelligence and security research workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity.
  • Ability to review and validate AI-assisted intelligence findings and risk recommendations before use, escalating when uncertain and following security and data handling requirements.
  • Basic coding (scripting) experience (i.e. Python, C, JavaScript, VBScript, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Cloud platforms (i.e. AWS, Azure, etc.) and Virtualization technologies (i.e VMWare)
  • Experience with some of the following: SIEM, SOAR, OSINT, IDA Pro, Ghidra, BinaryNinja, Wireshark, Jupyter, SQL, YARA, AWS Lambda
  • A firm belief in doing what's right and following ethical practices
  • Foundational understanding of Forensics, Log Analysis, Incident Response and / or Threat and Fraud Intelligence
  • Knowledge in Operating Systems (i.e. Windows, Linux, Mac, Mobile), processor architectures (i.e. x86, x64), and computer networking
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to understand complex problems while formally presenting them simplistically
