You are a strategic executive advisor, a business growth leader, and a digital transformation expert with a track record of guiding organizations through technology-driven change. Your ability to bridge technology and business strategy makes you a trusted partner for CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, COOs, and Boards.

You excel in executive-level discussions, translating technology trends into business impact and advising on AI, cloud, networking, cybersecurity, automation, and enterprise transformation.

With extensive experience in strategic advisory and business development, you don’t just advise—you influence, inspire, and drive real change. You help customers achieve business outcomes by aligning technology investments with strategic goals, overcoming organizational resistance, and accelerating adoption through compelling storytelling and real-world insights.

What You’ll Do at Cisco

Executive Advisory & Strategic Influence

  • Act as atrusted advisor to the C-suite and Board members, aligning technology strategy withbusiness transformation and financial objectives.
  • Guide organizations throughdigital and AI-driven transformation, ensuring technology investments lead toreal, measurable business outcomes.

Business Development & Revenue Growth

  • Identify andshape multi-million-dollar business opportunities, aligning Cisco’s capabilities withenterprise transformation priorities.
  • Develop and presentcompelling business casesthat support investment in Cisco’s technology and services.
  • Own strategic engagements that directly chip in toCisco’s revenue growth, adoption, and executive influence within key accounts.

Structured Client Engagement & Transformation Roadmaps

  • Use astructured advisory frameworkto guide customers fromstrategy formulation to implementation.
  • Leadexecutive workshops and board-level discussions, deliveringtransformation roadmaps, risk assessments, and investment plans.
  • Work alongsideSales, Engineering, and the greater Customer Experience team you are part of toensure Cisco’s solutions are embedded inlong-term pivotal initiatives.

Industry Thought Leadership & Market Influence

  • Represent Cisco inkey industry forums, executive roundtables, and major conferences, crafting thetechnology and business transformation narrative.
  • Publishwhite papers, research reports, and thought leadership contentto position Cisco as aleader in enterprise transformation.
  • Serve as aboard advisor, industry spokesperson, or guide panelist, expanding Cisco’sexecutive influence.
  • Build and mentor a strong network ofleaders and advisors, encouraging a culture ofinnovation, diversity, and strategic thinking.

Who You Will Work With

As part of theCisco CX Office of the Chief Technology Officer, you will collaborate withCisco’s most senior technology and business leaders, engaging withtop customers and partnersto drivemeaningful business outcomes.

You will work closely withSales, Engineering, Product, and Executive teams, ensuring thatCisco’s technology delivers real-world value beyond technical implementation.

Who You Are

  • 15+ years of executive-level experienceintechnology strategy, digital transformation, or business leadership—ideally as aCIO, CTO, CISO, Head of Strategy, Partner/Managing Director in consulting, or an industry thought leader.
  • Consistent record of boardroom engagementwithextensive executive networks and influence.
  • Recognized thought leaderwith a strong presence inpublishing, speaking engagements, advisory boards, and executive roundtables.
  • Experience advising organizations inkey verticalssuch asFinancial Services, Service Providers, Manufacturing, Energy, Retail, or Technology.
  • MBA or business-oriented technical background preferred.
  • Deep understanding of AI, networking, cybersecurity, cloud, and automation trends—whether as ahands-on authority or business strategistwho understands their impact.

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. or Canada hiring location. U.S. employees haveaccess to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings.

Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday (for non-exempt employees), plus a day off for their birthday. Non-Exempt new hires accrue up to 16 days ofvacation time off each year, at a rate of 4.92 hours per pay period. Exempt new hires participate in Cisco’s flexible Vacation Time Offpolicy, which does not place a defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use, but is subject to availability and some business limitations. All new hires are eligible for Sick Time Off subject to Cisco’s Sick Time Off Policy and will have eighty (80) hours of sick time off provided on their hire date and on January 1st of each year thereafter. Up to 80 hours ofunused sick timewill be carried forwardfrom one calendar yearto the nextsuch that the maximum number of sick time hours an employee may have available is160 hours. Employees in Illinois have a unique time off program designed specifically with local requirements in mind. All employees also have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
