Job summary

Amazon Asia-Pacific Resources Private Limited (Singapore) - B12 is seeking an Amazon Field Engineer to provide full life-cycle support for AWS Data Centers from design inception through site improvement and maintenance.

You will be the go-to engineering resource regionally, reviewing designs, solving complex issues, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure safety, reliability, and cost efficiency of critical infrastructure globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or electrical engineering.
• Experience with EPMS/SCADA/BMS controls system software or hardware.
• Experience interpreting, modifying, and developing mechanical and electrical drawings, or experience with PLC-controlled automation.
• Experience troubleshooting issues and root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform design and equipment submittal review for new Data Centers in your region.
• Troubleshoot, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation for site/equipment failures.
• Directly support operational issues with ad-hoc training, complex operating procedure reviews, including critical equipment, and event support.
• Interface with internal data center design engineering team, server hardware team, environmental health and safety team to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered.
• Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions
• Initiate and lead engineering audits including on-site visits within Amazon’s leased/owned data centers. Produce reports outlining risks with recommended mitigations and remediation's
• Act as resident engineer during new construction projects. Support construction, commissioning, and turnover.

Key job responsibilities

As An Amazon Field Engineer, You Will Provide Full Life-cycle Support To AWS Data Centers From Design Inception Through Site Improvement And Maintenance. A day in the life You will operate with high autonomy owning engineering reviews, bar-raising initiatives, and root cause analyses for infrastructure products. This role has a high level of discretion with regards to daily activities. While not always daily, your skills will provide a valuable part in assessing the risks and failures associated with controls products within our data centers. Each day you will interact with different teams responsible for all aspects of the data centers. You will have the opportunity to work on projects locally, regionally and globally.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or electrical engineering, or 4+ years of industrial controls and automation experience
• Experience with EPMS/SCADA/BMS controls system software or hardware
• Experience interpreting, modifying, and developing mechanical and electrical drawings, or experience with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller)-controlled automation and issue diagnosis in a continuous process or production environment
• Experience troubleshooting issues and root cause analysis

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer License
• Experience with building codes and regulations for your region
• Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents
