Job summary

Caliber8 Recruitment is sourcing a GM Marine Operations for a senior leadership role based in Hong Kong. The candidate will oversee a large fleet, provide guidance to Masters and vessel teams, and drive performance improvements across voyages, port calls, bunkering and cargo operations.

Qualifications

• Strong seagoing experience, ideally to Master level.
• 10+ years of maritime experience with significant shore-based operational experience.
• Strong knowledge of vessel operations, port/cargo operations and maritime regulations.
• Experience working with Masters, owners, charterers and agents.
• Strong leadership, communication and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee marine operations across the managed fleet.
• Provide operational guidance and support to Masters and vessel teams.
• Monitor vessel movements, port calls, cargo operations and overall operational performance.
• Coordinate with owners, charterers, agents and terminals to resolve operational issues and minimise delays.
• Oversee voyage planning, vessel readiness, bunkering and port operations.
• Monitor operational KPIs, delays, off-hire and vessel performance.
• Work closely with Technical, Crewing, HSSEQ and Commercial teams to ensure smooth vessel operations.
• Support the management of operational emergencies and critical situations.
• Ensure vessels operate in line with company procedures and applicable maritime regulations.
• Lead and develop the Marine Operations team and drive continuous improvement.

We have been tasked by a reputable shipping company to source for a GM Marine Operations to be based in Hong Kong. This is a senior leadership role where you must have had experience overseeing over 50 oil tankers.
