Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive credit analysis and risk assessments of borrowers to evaluate financial strength, cash flow, and repayment capacity.
• Collect, verify, and assess information in credit applications and supporting documents.
• Conduct customer visits with Relationship Managers to understand operations and risk profile.
• Analyze financial statements, industry developments, and business prospects to identify potential risks.
• Monitor debtors' compliance with credit terms and identify early warning signs of deterioration.
• Assess customers' ability and willingness to meet obligations and recommend risk mitigation measures.
• Monitor credit portfolio quality and debtor performance to support growth and asset quality.
• Prepare credit review reports and risk assessments for submission to Head Office Risk Division.
• Liaise regularly with Head Office and internal stakeholders on credit and risk-related matters.
• Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, regulatory requirements, and sound banking practices.

Job Purpose

The Credit Risk Officer is responsible for conducting credit risk assessment, monitoring, and portfolio management activities to support prudent credit decision-making and mitigate business risks. The role works closely with Relationship Managers (RMs) in evaluating customers' financial conditions, monitoring debtor performance, and ensuring compliance with the Bank's credit policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive credit analysis and risk assessments of new and existing borrowers to evaluate financial strength, business performance, cash flow, and repayment capacity.
• Collect, verify, and assess information submitted in credit applications and supporting documentation.
• Conduct customer visits jointly with Relationship Managers to gain a better understanding of customers' business operations and risk profile.
• Analyze financial statements, industry developments, business prospects, and other relevant information to identify potential risks.
• Monitor debtors' compliance with credit terms and conditions and identify early warning signs of financial deterioration.
• Assess customers' ability and willingness to meet their financial obligations and recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures.
• Monitor credit portfolio quality and debtor performance to support sustainable portfolio growth and asset quality.
• Prepare credit review reports, risk assessment reports, and other business risk-related reports for submission to Head Office Risk Division.
• Liaise regularly with Head Office and internal stakeholders on credit and risk-related matters.
• Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, regulatory requirements, and sound banking practices.
