Job description

Responsibilities

  • Lead and enhance the credit underwriting standards and process.

  • Evaluate and approve transactions that are within delegated authority and recommend transactions that are more than the delegated authority for approval at higher levels.

  • Ensure credit decisions are sound and reflect the Bank's credit underwriting standards, policies, risk appetite, and meet local regulatory requirements.

  • Lead and enhance early warning framework for pre-emptive actions on vulnerable accounts.

  • Conduct portfolio monitoring to initiate portfolio action on accounts displaying early warning signals.

  • Lead study on lessons learnt on non-performing loans or first payment default accounts.

  • Support conceptualization development for new credit products suitable for the markets.

  • Provide user requirements on credit underwriting or review process in Loan Origination System.

  • Provide secretariat support for the Credit Risk Management Committee meeting.

  • Coach junior credit approvers and analysts.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of credit experience in the banking or financial industry.

  • Preferably possess the following complementary work experience in Credit underwriting, Restructuring, Program lending.

  • Degree holder, preferably in risk management discipline.

  • Good inter-personal, communication & writing skills.

  • Meticulous with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Motivated and collaborative team player with ability to consider the broader picture.

  • Proficient in English and preferably in Mandarin or South East Asia language to communicate with our Mandarin/South East Asian speaking stakeholders.

  • Proficient in computer applications (MS Office).
