JOB PURPOSE AND SCOPE
Serve as the primary business leader for the Structural Heart business in key markets of Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Cambodia, and Myanmar. The role is based in Singapore, involves extensive travel, reports to the General Manager, Emerging Asia, and Korea (EMAK Region - ISC/ SEA / S. Korea).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the full business P&L and lead direct reports in sales, with dotted lines to Marketing, Finance, Customer Service, Regulatory, and Quality Affairs.
- Achieve revenue and profit targets via market-specific strategies.
- Develop and implement strategies and incentive/marketing programs to drive market leadership across all product groups.
- Promote adoption of established and new products and therapies.
- Identify and convert untapped markets and opportunities into revenue.
- Build strong relationships with key decision-makers in SEA countries, including customers, distributors, government agencies, industry groups, and internal stakeholders.
- Provide leadership and direction to the team and channel partners, including drafting contracts and devising incentive programs.
- Ensure compliance and uphold ethical business practices.
- Foster a strong organizational culture and infrastructure, mentoring the SEA Management Team, which includes sales and marketing teams across four franchises: TAVI, Cardiac Surgery, Structural Intervention, and Transcatheter Mitral & Tricuspid Intervention.
- Assess distributor sales teams to ensure proper resource allocation and clarity of roles between Abbott and distributors.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in management/sales leadership in the medical device industry.
- Proven leadership, coaching, and motivation skills.
- Experience with large multinational companies and Southeast Asia markets preferred.
- Experience in direct sales and distributor management.
- Knowledge of target setting, sales incentives, and rebate schemes.
- Experience in Medical Devices or Healthcare industries is a plus.
- Strong business acumen, financial analysis, and strategy skills.
- Excellent English and local language skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
