Job description

Oversee the planning, development, administration, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of counselling and psychological services and standards in the Centre. This includes reviewing the Centre’s SOPs pertaining to the delivery of services and recommending revisions to ensure compliance to the latest regulations and administrative procedures.

Ensure that the Professional Team’s processes and practice standards are in accordance to the sector’s requirements and the team of professionals deliver therapeutic interventions according to local professional ethics and standards as well as prevailing international standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Clinical

1.1 Conduct psycho-social assessments to identify clients’ individual needs and develop tailored therapy plans.

1.2 Provide therapy through individual, group, or specialised sessions based on the client’s functioning level and presenting concerns.

1.3 Participate in multidisciplinary intake assessments to evaluate treatment suitability.

1.4 Monitor, evaluate, and document clients’ progress and evolving needs.

1.5 Make appropriate referrals to external professionals for further assessment or intervention.

1.6 Offer clinical updates and consultations to caregivers and the wider care team.

1.7 Actively contribute to case conferences and collaborative care planning.

1.8 Facilitate staff training on behaviour management strategies and other relevant clinical topics.

1.9 Attend and participate in staff meetings, case conferences, and other meetings as required by the Centre Head.

2. Administration

2.1 Maintain clear records of all clients under care.

2.2 Compile and provide monthly statistics

3. Professional / Staff Development

3.1 Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in Counselling, Psychology, and related fields to inform service delivery and programme development.

3.2 Take the lead in reviewing and enhancing therapeutic services to ensure relevance, quality, and alignment with current professional standards.

3.3 Design and deliver training sessions or workshops for staff, caregivers, and community partners to build clinical competencies and promote trauma-informed care practices.

Work experience and skills

Qualification

· Master’s degree in Clinical or Counselling Psychology / Postgraduate Diploma in Play Therapy / Master’s degree in Counselling

· 2 to 3 years of experience in a clinical setting

Key Skills

· Exposure to work with complex trauma or have extensive experience in working with children and their families with complex trauma

· Ability to provide clinical consultation independently

· Provide individual and/or family psychotherapy

· Excellent communication and listening skills

· Empathy and the ability to deal with people in distress

· Ability to remain calm in stressful situations

· Problem-solving and decision-making skills

· Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with good organisational and time management

Experience
