Job description

JOB PURPOSE

Conduct dyadic counselling support for individuals, couples, and families (at low to moderate levels of complexity), utilising person-centred, systemic, Emotional Focused Therapy, or other suitable modalities supported by the organization. Participate in training and outreach events.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Centre level responsibilities

  1. Provide dyadic counselling support services for individuals, couples, and families in low to moderate complexity cases.
  2. Develop and manage counselling cases and care plans.
  3. Assess clients' levels of functioning, planning, and goal setting.
  4. Assess clients' risks and needs, and implement system interventions.
  5. Conduct community needs analysis, and plan and support outreach events.
  6. Follow ethical practices in accordance with the Code of Ethics.
  7. Support Care Corner leaders in service planning and practice standards management.
  8. Assist Care Corner leadership in team building and development.
  9. Perform any other duties as assigned by the centre.

Service Group level responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with inter-services such as Community Counselling Unit, Insight (Youth Mental Health), and Hotline.
  2. Contribute to corporate events and activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & TECHNICAL/PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

  1. Formal Education: Master in Counselling.
  2. Work Experience: 1-3 years of relevant counselling experience in education, social work, or related fields (Mental Health, Family, Couple, Elderly, Divorce, EFCT).
  3. Technical / Professional Skills and Knowledge
  4. Knowledge and ability to facilitate dyadic work.
  5. Experience handling cases with low to moderate complexity.
  6. Knowledge of one therapy modality and ability to apply its conceptual map in therapy.
  7. Ability to demonstrate reflective practice.
  8. Manage ethical concerns with minimal guidance.
  • Language Skills: Able to speak, read, and write basic Chinese to serve Mandarin-speaking clients and Hotline volunteers.

Qualifications

Master in Counselling.

1-3 years of relevant counselling experience.
