Job description

At FAM@FSC, the Counsellor will conduct counselling for individuals, couples and families facing challenges in their relationships. We are looking for passionate people who want to work with couples and families.

The Counsellor is responsible for facilitating change and improving lives for families facing transitional challenges through the provision of direct services. The Counsellor will act professionally at all times and be accountable to the client and the organization to ensure that intervention plans are developed and implemented according to professional judgment and knowledge.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Offer early-risk marriage support e.g. minor and transnational couples, divorce support, and family & marital counselling.
  • Offer group work and other interventions to families facing challenges; and work with relevant partners to promote the welfare of the clients.
  • Proficient in various counselling approaches (e.g. systemic) and tools to help with clients' concerns effectively.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by Management.
Qualifications
  • Attained a postgraduate qualification in counselling from accredited institutions under the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC).
  • Preferably a registered counsellor with SAC.
Other Information
Relevant Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in counselling individuals, couples, and families (e.g. court cases) in the social service sector.
COMPETENCIES:
  • A people-oriented team player that contributes to a positive work and team culture.
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible with changes.
  • Excellent written (e.g. report writing) and presentation skills.
  • Committed, able to multi-task, and has a can-do attitude.
