Job summary

A leading entertainment venue is seeking a Costume Dresser to maintain costume quality and provide support during productions. This role requires knowledge of costume etiquette, and preference will be given to those with relevant experience or educational background. The successful candidate will handle costume maintenance effectively and ensure seamless operations in productions, reflecting a commitment to quality and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • No experience required with Diploma.
  • Preferred 2 years in theatrical, film, or television sectors without a Diploma.
  • Class 3 Driver’s License preferred.

Job description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Understand continuity in costume and props at all times.

  • Monitor costumes and maintain or request for maintenance as appropriate (includes hand washing, dry cleaning etc).

  • Handle day to day washing, drying and steam ironing of costume pieces and inner wear

  • Responsible in costume issuance and checks with cast.

  • Render costume dresser services to support RWS Entertainment productions. Services include quick change, preset and standard wardrobe track duties.

  • Provide team members with accurate information so as to facilitate informed maintenance or service decisions.

  • Ability to rectify and repair costume, props and accessories directed, to maintain the production quality of shows.

Job Requirements:

  • With Diploma or equivalent: No experience required.

  • Without Diploma or equivalent: at least 2 years of related experience in the following industries is preferred: theatrical, film, television.

  • Class 3 Driver’s License preferred (we require employees to drive around the resort when deploying costumes to set locations).

  • Good knowledge of costume etiquette including backstage and fitting protocols.

  • Proven hand sewing skills.

  • Basic knowledge of laundry and the ability to execute and use commercial machines preferred.

  • Proven knowledge in fabric handling and maintenance is preferred.

  • Able to perform shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
