Job summary

A leading company in the drilling industry is seeking an IT Support Technician to handle imaging, troubleshooting, and network management tasks. The ideal candidate will have a diploma in IT or engineering and be adept at troubleshooting various hardware and software issues. This full-time position offers a dynamic environment where one can grow their skills and adapt to multiple technical challenges.

Qualifications

  • At least a Diploma, Degree in Engineering or Computer Science/IT.
  • Entry-level candidates are welcome.
  • Knowledge of cabling and termination standards.

Responsibilities

  • Imaging and troubleshooting hardware/software for devices.
  • Assist with network management and corporate data-centre maintenance.
  • Project work including internal AV setup and support.

Basic Windows OS experience

Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Imaging laptops, desktops, servers, notebooks, and tablets.
  • Working with Desktop Engineers to maintain image libraries.
  • Troubleshooting hardware issues with laptops, desktops, servers, notebooks, and tablets.
  • Troubleshooting software issues with laptops, desktops, servers, notebooks, and tablets.
  • Acting as an account admin for various software products.
  • Assist with Wireless account management.
  • Troubleshoot internal network issues.
  • Project work.
  • Internal audio, visual setup, tear down and troubleshooting.
  • Corporate/customer on-site hardware inventory maintenance.
  • Corporate data-centre monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Virtual server troubleshooting, building, and maintenance.

Requirements:

  • At least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
  • Entry level candidates, or anyone with relevant working experience
  • Cloud service providers’ certification will be a plus
  • Basic Windows OS experience including Microsoft and Apple operating systems.
  • Basic Networking knowledge.
  • Basic hardware knowledge including: laptops, desktops, servers, switches, and routers.
  • Basic knowledge of Active Directory
  • Microsoft Office experience (Office 365 is a plus)
  • Knowledge of cabling and termination standards and experience working with Cat 5, Cat 5e and Cat 6 fiber terminations.
  • Solid methodical troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to work after office hours depending on project needs
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and priorities using effective organisational and time management skills.
  • A good team player who is able to work in a fast-paced environment.
