Job Summary

Leads the development and execution of open innovation initiatives (e.g. collaborating with startups, etc) to identify, pilot and scale breakthrough technologies and business models

Job Responsibilities

Innovation Strategy

  • Translate corporate strategy into innovation roadmaps and thematic priorities (e.g. MaaS, battery / EV infrastructure, etc)

Open Innovation Management

  • Identify, evaluate and onboard startups, scaleups and partners aligned with the strategic technologies and business priorities
  • Design and implement open calls, hackathons, etc and establish governance processes, templates / tools to monitor progress, risks and deliverable
  • Maintain portfolio of innovation projects and partners
  • Manage the end-to-end innovation funnel – from idea sourcing, evaluation to POC / Pilot deployment

Communication & Culture Building

  • Promote culture of innovation through internal engagement programs, demo, showcases and learning sessions

Requirements

  • 6 – 10 years of experience in Innovation, R&D, product development or startup collaboration, ideally within automotive, mobility or tech sectors
  • Degree or related experience in Innovation, R&D, product development or startup collaboration, ideally within automotive, mobility or tech sectors
  • Experience in managing open innovation programs or startup accelerators
  • Familiarity with innovation ecosystems (startups, VCs, academia) around Asia Region
  • Ability to evaluate technical and commercial viability of emerging technologies
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with experience in agile and lean innovation methods
  • Strong understanding of future mobility trends (EVs, ADAS, AI, sustainability)
  • Good business acumen and strong communication ability to influence across level
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and work in dynamic, multicultural environments
  • Flexibility to travel to Southeast Asia Region

Skillsets (Nice to Have)

  • Technical background in areas such as electrification, ADAS, AI/ML, IOT / Connected Device, Mobility data ecosystem, Sustainaibility, etc
  • Capability to coach teams on innovation practices
