We develop and support SDLC platforms and services to our 17,000 engineers worldwide, enabling them to deliver software for their business. WHAT SLANG SDLC IS

Securities Database, known as SecDb, is the backbone of Goldman Sachs’ risk analytics platform for securities. The development of this proprietary software system marked a significant milestone in Goldman Sachs’ technological history. SecDb continues to be a strategic, critical platform for the Firm that we will continue to invest in for the foreseeable future. Slang stands for Securities Language - it is the language of SecDb. It is used by thousands of GS engineers worldwide, with 1500 production releases per day on average. It's our hyper-converged SDLC that supports this rapid development cycle, which our front office businesses rely on.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Maintain and improve the Slang SDLC workflow and tooling on the SecDb platform
  • Focus on user experience and customer satisfaction
  • Interact directly with the business and other tech teams to build innovative solutions to support the GS business
  • Develop quickly on SecDb: changes to production systems can be made and deployed within minutes, while maintaining high quality standards
  • High impact: Play a critical part in delivering value to our thousands of Slang developers worldwide

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • A technical degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or a related field
  • Solid understanding and algorithms and data structures
  • Min. 1 year (for Analyst)/ 3 years (for Associate)of experience in deep knowledge of object-oriented computer programming, preferably in large scale financial or technical organization
  • Strong software development and design experience, including a clear understanding of data structures, algorithms, software design and core programming concepts
  • Experience in working with large and complex software systems, distributed computing, and databases
  • Ability to work cross-functionally as well as the ability to work as a hands-on individual contributor
  • Motivation to learn about trading workflow and financial markets
  • Slang experience is not required but highly advantageous
