About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated and organized individual to join our team as a Kitchen Coordinator & Cook. This is a dual-role position, with a primary focus on coordinating day-to-day kitchen operations to ensure smooth workflow, efficient processes, and clear communication across teams. In addition to coordination duties, you will support kitchen production as a cook when needed.
Key Responsibilities – Coordinator (Primary Focus):
- Daily Operations Oversight:
Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily kitchen production activities to meet delivery timelines and order volumes. - Team Coordination:
Liaise with chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants to ensure clear communication of daily tasks and responsibilities. - Logistics & Inventory Management:
Monitor stock levels, initiate procurement requests, and coordinate deliveries with suppliers to avoid shortages or overstocking. - Quality Control & SOP Adherence:
Ensure that kitchen staff follow food safety regulations and internal SOPs consistently, reporting any deviations or incidents. - Order Management:
Collaborate with the order fulfillment team to align kitchen production with customer demand, adjusting schedules as needed. - Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain records of daily output, staff attendance, and production-related incidents. Generate simple reports for management when required. - Process Improvement:
Identify bottlenecks in workflow and propose practical solutions to increase efficiency and reduce downtime. - Communication Hub:
Act as the point of contact between kitchen staff, delivery teams, and management, ensuring smooth flow of information.
Secondary Responsibilities – Cook:
Responsibilities:
- Process and pack raw and cooked ingredients in accordance to specified guidelines, ensuring desired standards and quality are maintained
- Champion food sectors for baking, cooking, and mise-en-place within the central kitchen premises
- Maintain and upkeep kitchen machinery and equipment
- Ensure that the processing line and storage area are kept clean and compliant to food safety regulations
- Assist with research and development of new food products with fellow team members
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a food production or central kitchen environment
- Prior experience in a coordination or supervisory role is highly preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in basic MS Office tools (Excel, Word) or kitchen management software
- Knowledge of food safety standards in Singapore (e.g., SFA regulations)
- Ability to multitask and stay calm in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
