Job description

Culina is a leading purveyor of specialist Epicurean foods and wines, a choice dis-tributor to hotels, restaurants and cafes in Singapore. Culina runs a Bistro and Gour-met boutique, an Organic retail store SuperNature in Dempsey, as well as a chain of butcheries in Major Supermarkets island-wide.

Job Summary:

We are seeking dynamic culinary professionals responsible for preparing and cooking food to high standards, ensuring cleanliness, and maintaining food safety protocols. The role is also responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in all customer-facing areas of the restaurant before and during service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook menu items under Sous/Head Chef guidance.
  • Assist in menu development and implement new food trends and concepts.
  • Ensure timely food preparation and delivery.
  • Train and guide cooks in food preparation techniques.
  • Manage food orders, quality, and cost control.
  • Monitor stock, deliveries, and minimize waste.
  • Follow standard recipes and presentation for consistency.
  • Uphold sanitation, cleanliness, and safety standards.
  • Maintain hygienic food storage areas.
  • Participate in training and personal development.
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role; culinary certification or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.
  • Proficient in preparing a range of dishes (appetizers, soups, main courses) with skills in garnishing, arranging, and serving.
  • Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene, and freshness standards.
  • Experienced in maintaining cleanliness of work areas, utensils, and equipment.
  • Strong team player with good time management, interpersonal skills, and ability to follow instructions.
  • Professional, customer-focused, self-motivated, and well-organized with a positive attitude.
Work Schedule:

5-day workweek with a rostered schedule:

  • 4 days from 7:30am to 5:30pm
  • 1 day from 7:30am to 4:30pm
