Food Preparation & Cooking
- Prepare and cook Japanese dishes such as sushi, sashimi, ramen, tempura, teppanyaki, donburi, and other traditional or fusion meals.
- Ensure ingredients are fresh and meet Japanese culinary standards.
- Handle cutting, slicing, marinating, and plating with precision.
- Maintain portion control and flavor consistency.
Kitchen Operations & Hygiene
- Set up and maintain workstations with necessary ingredients and equipment.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines.
- Monitor inventory and manage ingredient stock.
- Assist in receiving and storing supplies properly.
- Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and compliant with food handling regulations.
- Maintain and clean kitchen equipment regularly.
- Ensure dishes meet restaurant standards in taste and presentation.
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures for consistency.
- Inspect ingredients and report any quality issues.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of simple Japanese greetings.
- Professionalism and good manners in workplace interactions.
- Non-smokers preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Japanese cooking techniques and ingredients.
- Food safety certification is an advantage.
- Proficient in knife handling and kitchen safety.
- Physically fit to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to a dynamic kitchen setting.
Working Hours & Conditions
- Shift work, including weekends and public holidays.
- 5.5-day work week.
