The Cook works under the guidance of the supervisor while maintaining the flow of the kitchen while keeping the work area clean and sanitized.

What will I be doing?

As a Cook, you are responsible for preparing and presenting high quality dishes to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. A Cook will also be required to prepare all mis-en-place and contribute to departmental targets. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Complete and ensure all work done in assigned areas are to the highest cleanliness standards and in adherence to Hilton policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and plate accordingly to established Hilton guidelines and food standards.
  • Set up and complete mis en place for breakfast, lunch or dinner according to the schedule.
  • Operate equipment safely and properly in the kitchen and ensure they are kept clean after use.
  • The ability to read and understand all orders.
  • Prepare and present all food on a timely basis according to the Hilton standards.
  • Respect and accommodate servers’ requests regarding guests’ preferences and requests.
  • Make requisition, obtain proper signature, submit, and collect items needed for the day and the following day with the assistance of a Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
  • Follow the standard recipes and presentations in order to maintain the standard of quality in production and presentation.
  • Clean all work areas and equipment thoroughly at the end of each shift.
  • Keep each working area clean and organized.
  • Maintain a positive attitude towards changes and a high level of professionalism.
  • Report any accident immediately.
  • Maintain a high morale and good working relationship with other employees.
  • Maintain a full line of communication with supervisors.
  • Respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situations.
  • Perform other tasks and projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.

A Cook serving Hilton brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

  • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
  • Able to work under limited supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good basic knowledge on food safety, hygiene and sanitation.
  • Good basic knowledge of local, western and international cuisine.
  • Flexible with working hours, able to work morning/evening shifts, weekends and public holidays.
