A well-established restaurant seeks a skilled Cook to oversee daily operations, manage staff, and ensure compliance with food safety and health standards. Candidates should have 5-10 years of experience and strong people management skills to lead a multidisciplinary team effectively in a fast-paced environment.
1. The Cook is responsible for the overall operation, including hiring, stock purchase, and ensuring everyone is trained on proper food preparation, legal alcoholic beverage service, kitchen safety techniques, and health standards.
2. Exceptional people management skills are required to lead, motivate, and develop teams.
3. Promote good relations with staff, contractors, and management.
4. Screen job applicants, hire new employees, supervise, counsel staff, and recommend promotions, transfers, and dismissals.
5. Supervise multidisciplinary teams including cleaning, maintenance, grounds, and security.
6. Organize and conduct meetings, communicating pertinent information to staff.
7. Ensure smooth operation, including managing rotas, staffing levels, recruitment, HR issues, conducting audits, and ordering supplies and amenities to meet operational needs.
8. Have overall responsibility for the organization of daily cleaning operations.
9. Handle necessary administration, paperwork, and any other duties assigned.
10. Offer a creative menu to compete with other local restaurants.
11. Stay open until the last customer leaves.
12. Clean up after business hours.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. 5-10 years of relevant experience in related fields.
2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
