Job description

Our client is an international freight-forwarder and shipping company. Due to expansion, it is seeking a like-minded individual who is experienced in control tower operations (land and sea) to join its ranks. The role requires more than operational experience; it requires management experience and a willingness to perform groundwork initially to kick off the South East Asian operation. The successful candidate must be able to maintain and negotiate freight rates.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle queries and operational orders between offices, agents, and clients.
  • Handle shipping quotes and maintain freight rate management and negotiation.
  • Ensure shipping processes are adhered to and systems are kept up to date.
  • Create shipment orders.
  • Monitor the invoicing of shipments.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with agents to increase revenues globally.
  • Statistical understanding and reporting of volumes and trade lanes.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-8 years of logistics experience.
  • General knowledge of Imports / Exports / General Logistics / Warehousing / Customs / Rate Understanding.
  • Sea freight and Airfreight knowledge (Importing and Exporting).
  • Proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Stays up to date on world affairs through the lens of logistics and supply chain.
  • Open to anyone who qualifies for the job.
