Job description

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Project Delivery

· Lead and manage cross-functional teams (technical, product, finance, innovation) across onshore, nearshore, and offshore locations.

· Plan and execute data projects, improving delivery timelines by up to 25% through process optimization and resource efficiency.

· Own end-to-end project lifecycle — from estimation and financial proposal preparation to client delivery and post-implementation support.

· Engage with enterprise clients in weekly cadence calls to track progress and manage expectations.

· Identify risks early in the project lifecycle and implement proactive mitigation strategies.

Data Engineering & Platform Modernization

· Drive cloud data platform migrations (e.g., Hortonworks to Cloudera, Netezza to Snowflake).

· Design and implement data pipelines using DBT, Snowflake, and Python for both batch and real-time processing.

· Develop reusable DBT macros/models and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to enforce deployment quality and automation.

· Establish frameworks for data quality, SCD handling, reconciliation, and snapshotting.

Governance, Compliance & Best Practices

· Define and implement data governance frameworks aligned with regulatory standards (e.g., HKMA, GIS).

· Partner with internal and external auditors to support compliance and audit readiness.

· Establish and enforce data security, retention, and user role policies across platforms.

· Advocate for data stewardship, data standardization, and metadata management across projects.

Client Engagement & Stakeholder Management

· Build and maintain long-term client relationships, leading to 30% increase in client retention and new revenue opportunities.

· Conduct strategic presentations and workshops for enterprise clients, aligning technical solutions with business goals.

· Improve client satisfaction scores by identifying operational pain points and developing tailored solutions.

Agile & Operational Excellence

· Facilitate Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and release planning.

· Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to manage product backlogs and delivery roadmaps.

· Log and manage project impediments via Jira, driving resolution and ensuring team velocity.

· Monitor project performance, create dashboards, and deliver executive-level reporting.

Key Requirements:

· Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

· Experience: 10–15 years of experience in data engineering, analytics, and leadership roles.

· Tools & Tech: Snowflake, DBT, Python, Netezza, Cloudera, Hortonworks, Teradata, Hive, SQL, GitHub Actions, Tableau, AWS S3, Hbase, Nifi, Sqoop, Unix shell, Python

· Methodologies: Agile/Scrum, DevOps (CI/CD), Data Governance, ETL Frameworks.

· Soft Skills: Excellent stakeholder management, problem-solving, team leadership, and communication skills.

Nice to Have:

· Experience in BFSI domain and working with regulators.

· Certifications in Snowflake, AWS, or Data Governance tools.

· Exposure to digital transformation and cloud modernization programs.
