Job summary

People Profilers Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced Turnaround Engineer to support planning, engineering coordination, and execution for the 2027 turnaround and related plant improvements. The role requires coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing contractors, and ensuring safe, timely delivery of turnaround scopes.

Responsibilities span development of work packages, detailed execution planning, field verifications, schedule integration, risk assessments, and post-turnaround activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in Mechanical Engineering with maintenance emphasis in Oil & Gas / Petrochemical.
• At least two plant outages of 150,000 labor hours or more.
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering preferred; other qualifications considered.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, engineering coordination, execution and close-out of the 2027 turnaround and related projects.
• Develop turnaround work packages, coordinate multidisciplinary activities, manage contractors, monitor progress.
• Support minor CAPEX and reliability improvement projects before and after turnaround.
• Develop and maintain turnaround worklists with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering.
• Review scope and prepare execution packages with methodology, manpower, equipment and logistics.
• Perform field verification to confirm scope and access requirements.
• Coordinate engineering reviews ensuring drawings, permits and docs are available.
• Assist in developing integrated turnaround schedules and identify critical path activities.
• Participate in readiness reviews, scope freeze meetings and risk assessments.
• Support procurement of long lead materials, specialist services and rental equipment.
• Coordinate pre-turnaround activities to ensure work fronts are ready for execution.
• Coordinate daily turnaround activities to progress safely and on schedule.
• Monitor contractor productivity and milestone achievement.
• Identify schedule risks and propose recovery plans.
• Resolve site technical issues with Maintenance, Operations and Engineering teams.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary activities across Mechanical, E&I, Civil, Inspection and Operations.
• Monitor execution quality and compliance with standards and procedures.
• Support turnaround control room activities and progress reporting.
• Participate in shutdown, startup and commissioning after maintenance works.
• Support night shift turnaround during the April 2027 outage as assigned.
• Support execution of project engineering, including minor CAPEX and plant modifications.
• Coordinate design reviews, procurement, contractor activities and installation works.
• Prepare project schedules and monitor progress for timely completion.
• Coordinate MOC activities where applicable and document close-out.

Responsibilities

• To Develop turnaround work packages, coordinating multidisciplinary activities, managing contractors, monitoring execution progress and ensuring safe, quality and timely delivery of turnaround scopes.

Turnaround Engineering & Planning

Turnaround Execution

• Coordinate daily turnaround activities to ensure work progresses safely, efficiently and according to schedule.

• Monitor contractor productivity, work progress and milestone achievement.

• Identify schedule risks and propose recovery plans where required.

• Resolve site technical issues together with Maintenance, Operations and Engineering teams.

• Coordinate multidisciplinary activities involving Mechanical, E&I, Civil, Inspection and Operations teams.

• Monitor execution quality and ensure compliance with engineering standards and plant procedures.

• Support turnaround control room activities including progress reporting and schedule updates.

• Participate in shutdown, startup and commissioning activities after completion of maintenance works.

• Support night shift turnaround execution during the April 2027 outage as assigned.

Project Engineering

• Support execution of minor CAPEX, reliability improvement and plant modification projects.

• Coordinate engineering design reviews, procurement, contractor activities and installation works.

• Prepare project schedules, monitor progress and ensure timely completion.

• Coordinate Management of Change (MOC) activities where applicable.

• Participate in commissioning, mechanical completion and project close-out documentation.

Contractor & Cost Management

• Coordinate contractors and vendors to ensure work is executed safely and efficiently.

• Verify contractor progress, manpower utilization and completed work quantities.

• Monitor turnaround and project expenditure against approved budgets.

• Support preparation of project justifications, one-pager proposals and management presentations where required.

Continuous Improvement

• Participate in turnaround post-review sessions and capture lessons learnt.

• Identify opportunities to improve turnaround planning, execution methodology and contractor performance.

• Support development of standard turnaround procedures, templates and engineering documentation.

Requirements

• Experience in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years’ of maintenance experience in Oil & Gas / Petrochemical industry or Diploma holder with 10 years’ maintenance experience Oil & Gas /Petrochemical industry preferred.

• Experience in at least two plant outages of over 150,000labor hours.

• Experience in a Gas Plant such as Gasification/SMR/ASU is an advantage
