Job summary

MCC Engineering (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. is seeking an experienced Contracts & Commercial Manager to oversee contract administration from pre-award to project completion.

You will review tenders, negotiate terms, and manage variations and disputes across major building, infrastructure, or civil engineering projects. The role requires 8–10 years’ experience, strong knowledge of standard form contracts, and excellent stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Law or related discipline.
  • 8–10 years of relevant experience in contract administration or commercial management within construction.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts (PSSCOC, FIDIC, SIA, NEC or similar).
  • Experience managing large-scale building, infrastructure or civil projects.
  • Sound understanding of contract law, procurement processes, claims management and dispute resolution.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with contract management software is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, negotiate, and administer contracts, subcontracts, consultancy agreements, and purchase agreements.
  • Provide contractual advice and support to project managers and site teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor compliance with contract terms, project milestones, and contractual deliverables.
  • Manage variation orders, EOT claims, loss and expense claims, and dispute resolution.
  • Prepare contractual correspondence, notices, claims, and responses per contract requirements.
  • Lead negotiations with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers on contractual matters.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual and commercial risks.
  • Collaborate with Quantity Surveying on cost control, payment applications, and final account settlement.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records of contractual communications and project correspondence.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Support project close-out activities, including final account negotiations and contract completion.

Job Requirements

  • Meticulous, commercially aware, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
