Job summary

A construction firm in Singapore is seeking a Contract Manager to draft and negotiate contracts, ensure compliance with regulations, and manage project budgets effectively. The ideal candidate will have 5–8 years of experience in construction or infrastructure projects, alongside strong negotiation and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with local construction regulations and practices.
  • Preferably with HDB / BTO experience.

Job description

-Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.

-Ensure all contractual obligations are met throughout the project lifecycle.

-Manage variations, claims, and extensions of time.

-Monitor project budgets and ensure cost control measures are in place.

-Work closely with QS (Quantity Surveyors) and project managers on financial matters.

-Evaluate and approve subcontractor invoices and progress claims.

-Identify contractual risks and propose mitigation strategies.

-Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and safety requirements.

-Liaise with clients, consultants, project teams, and external legal advisors.

-Lead contract-related discussions and negotiations.

-Handle disputes or claims that arise during or after the project.

-Maintain accurate records of contract changes, correspondence, and performance.

-Provide regular updates to senior management.

Requirements:

-Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building and related field.

-Typically 5–8 years of relevant experience in construction or infrastructure projects. Some roles may require experience in both main contractor and consultant environments.

-Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

-Familiarity with local construction regulations and practices.

-Preferably with HDB / BTO experience
