Tan Tock Seng Hospital's Department of General Surgery is one of Singapore's largest and most established surgical departments, serving the central region with comprehensive surgical care across multiple subspecialties including Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic, Upper Gastrointestinal, Colorectal, Breast, Endocrine, Vascular, Thoracic, Plastic and Trauma Surgery. As a major teaching facility affiliated with the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, our team performs operations ranging from routine procedures to complex tertiary‑level surgeries, while maintaining our commitment to clinical excellence, research innovation, and continuous education.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Trauma Surgeon to join one of Singapore's busiest trauma centres. As the Anchor Trauma Centre in the central region of Singapore, TTSH manages over 400 major trauma cases (ISS ≥ 16) annually and leads in trauma care innovation for the region. You will work with surgeons in other specialities in a high‑stress and unpredictable environment to treat critically injured patients in trauma and acute care surgery.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

• Provide comprehensive trauma and acute care surgical services
• Participate in trauma team activation and emergency response
• Contribute to resident education and medical student teaching
• Engage in collaborative clinical research with industry partners and quality improvement initiatives
• Participate in after‑hours on‑call roster

Surgical Expertise

• Provide emergency surgical care not subjected or limited to:
  • Operating on critical and multiple injuries to different organ systems in the thoracic and abdominal cavities

Qualifications And Requirements

• The candidate must possess a basic Medical Degree and a recognised post‑graduate qualification, such as the ABS, FRACS, FRCS, FRCSC or equivalent specialist qualification in General Surgery and must have gone through followship training in trauma surgery.
• Post‑specialty training in General Surgery with interest in acute care and trauma surgery
• Experience in acute care surgery and emergency general surgery
• Strong track record in clinical care and teaching
• Research experience is advantageous
