Consultant/Senior Consultant - Private Banking - Business Risk (Control Framework)

About the job:

As a Management Consultant, you will acquire first-hand consulting experience in the banking industry, build knowledge on a wide range of companies, and apply project management best practices in a fast-paced and intellectually challenging work environment. As we carry out all projects at the clients' premises, you will play a key role in building trusted client relationships through high quality deliverables and leveraging our industry expertise. This role is ideal for someone who has strong knowledge in Business Integration / Migration / TOM projects within Private Banking. This role also provides great exposure to senior stakeholders and tremendous career growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently drive the success of a work stream by directing activities, ensuring high quality deliverables and timely submission.
  • Participate in business development activities including topic development, proposal preparation, sales presentations, and contract negotiation.
  • Conduct research, data collection and analysis on the needs and issues of the client through interviews and workshops to translate their requirements into well-formulated solutions.
  • Present findings and recommendations to the client using business proposals and presentation decks.
  • Document the project into systems and processes for management review.
  • Close interaction with clients through regular project updates and networking.
  • Support team members with other project activities.
About you:
  • Degree holder.
  • 5-10 years of experience in the Private Banking and/or consulting industry.
  • Knowledge of Business Integration / Migration / TOM projects within Private Banking.
  • Knowledge of Business risk / Non-financial risk including Investment Suitability, Cross Border, Pricing disclosures is preferred.
  • With background in project management and transformation and change.
  • Good understanding of core business processes and products in the Private Banking industry.
  • Capable of working with front office on business risk areas.
  • Experience working with Front office as a business risk specialist for private banking.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Highly analytical and structured in problem solving; able to quickly understand complex situations.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with clients and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Integration of Control Mandates
    • Lead the end-to-end integration of two control mandates (e.g., 1LoD Control Office & Front Office Supervision) into a unified and coherent framework tailored for the Private Banking business model.
    • Conduct a comparative analysis of control objectives, processes, and reporting lines, and identify synergies and areas of conflict.
    • Collaborate with Business Risk Managers, Compliance, and Front Office stakeholders to ensure the integrated mandate supports both regulatory compliance and business effectiveness.
  2. Qualitative Control Analysis
    • Perform thematic reviews and qualitative assessments of existing control activities, incident trends, and supervisory routines.
    • Identify process inefficiencies, control blind spots, or duplication of effort that hinder risk mitigation or client experience.
    • Present findings in a structured manner with actionable recommendations for control uplift or simplification.
  3. SOP Review & Optimization
    • Support the Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with the review, refinement, and harmonization of SOPs impacted by the mandate integration across jurisdictions or booking centres.
    • Ensure updated SOPs reflect current business practices, are audit-ready, and align with internal control principles.
    • Enhance existing control frameworks to support scalable growth, consistent application of controls, and effective governance oversight.
  4. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
    • Act as a trusted partner to key stakeholders in Front Office Risk, Data Analytics and Compliance Teams.
    • Drive consensus and decision-making through structured workshops, working groups, and governance forums.
    • Provide regular updates to key stakeholders on progress, risks, and dependencies related to the integration and SOP workstreams.
