Role Summary
Oversee day-to-day site execution to deliver works safely, on time, within budget, and to specification. Coordinate subcontractors, materials, and inspections; enforce safety/quality standards; update progress and resolve site issues promptly. Reports to Project/Site Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan daily/weekly workfronts based on program, drawings, and method statements.
- Brief crews and subcontractors; conduct toolbox talks and PTWs as required.
- Monitor site safety (WSH) and stop/rectify unsafe acts or conditions immediately.
- Inspect workmanship, dimensions, and materials; raise/close NCRs and punch lists.
- Check setting-out, levels, and alignment; verify against drawings/IFC revisions.
- Track labour, plant, and material usage; minimise wastage and idle time.
- Coordinate deliveries, lifting activities, temporary works, and access.
- Liaise with consultants/RE/RTO for inspections, tests (ITP), and approvals.
- Update look-ahead schedule and daily site reports (progress, issues, weather).
- Assist in RA/Method Statement implementation and permit compliance.
- Verify shop drawings/as-builts and red-line updates.
- Support QA/QC testing (concrete cubes, compaction, weld/NDT, etc.).
- Manage site housekeeping, traffic control, and environmental controls.
- Resolve site clashes and escalate design/coordination issues quickly.
- Hand over completed areas: snagging, rectification, and documentation.
Requirements
- Diploma/ITE in Civil, Structural, Building, or related trade (or equivalent experience).
- 3–7 years’ site supervision in building, civil, or M&E works (supervisory capacity preferred).
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and standards.
- Able to read drawings/specifications; basic quantity take-off and measurement.
Skills & Tools
- Site coordination, leadership, and communication.
- Safety & quality enforcement; problem-solving under time pressure.
- Basic MS Project/Primavera for look-ahead; MS Office; familiarity with AutoCAD/ BIM viewer is a plus.
