Job Title: Construction Material Engineer (Bilingual – English & Mandarin)

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Construction Material Engineer to join our growing team. This position involves quality control, material testing, and sustainable material development for construction projects. You will play a key role in ensuring the performance, safety, and environmental compliance of building materials used across our sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory and on-site testing of construction materials such as concrete, steel, aggregates, waterproofing materials, and coatings.
• Ensure materials meet relevant standards (SS, BS, ASTM, or equivalent).
• Evaluate and recommend sustainable and eco-friendly materials for project use.
• Liaise with suppliers, consultants, and site engineers to coordinate material inspection and delivery.
• Maintain detailed material testing reports, certificates, and compliance documentation.
• Provide technical advice to project teams on material selection and quality assurance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Material Engineering, Chemistry or a related discipline.
• At least 1–2 years of working experience in the construction industry (site or lab experience preferred).
• Good understanding of construction material testing, QC procedures, and sustainability practices.
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin (to liaise with Mandarin-speaking workers, vendors, and subcontractors).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD, BCA standards, or Green Mark certification is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, communication, and coordination skills.
• Able to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
