Construction Manager

Job Description

1. Overall responsibility for all construction activities with respect to performance, procedure, and making recommendations to project managers for improvements and corrective actions.
2. Manage contractors with a focus on quality, compliance with engineering drawings, applicable code and standards, and construction schedule and cost.
3. Interface and coordinate with engineering supporting construction activities.
4. Assist in developing and implementing corporate construction policies that support project construction.
5. Oversee the effective management of project activities to assure timely delivery and low wastage.
6. Manage and lead a group of engineers.
7. Co-ordinate with other departments on issues affecting project works.
8. Liaise with government/statutory authorities, consultants, clients, suppliers, etc.
9. Provide timely project progress reporting to management and attend project execution meetings with other managers.
10. Select, guide, and develop a multicultural labor force & management team with construction responsibilities to ensure that the organization achieves its business objectives and complies with all relevant regulations and laws.
11. Ensure Quality Assurance and ISO Standards are met on all construction-related activities and ensure customer quality specifications are constantly met.
12. Allocate capital and Human Resources to maximize productivity.
13. Other ad-hoc duties required to carry out.

Requirements

1. Possess excellent interpersonal skills, good communication skills, negotiation skills, and strong leadership qualities.
2. Efficient, with good analytical skills and able to work independently.
3. Proven track records of successful project completion on time and on budget or exceeding expectations will be well regarded.
4. Master's or Degree in Engineering or equivalent, recognized by universities under the BCA is a plus.
5. Minimum 5 years of experience in construction. Experience in a marine construction company is favorable.
6. Proficient in Microsoft Office, MS Project, Primavera, and AutoCAD.
7. Able to start work immediately or within short notice.
