Job summary

The National University of Singapore invites applications for an experienced Research Assistant in computational electromagnetics. The role focuses on developing algorithms for full-wave EM scattering and inverse problems to reconstruct permittivity, combining wave physics with deep learning.

You will work in a multidisciplinary team, applying MoM and FEM methods, Green’s functions, and angular spectrum concepts; open to fixed term contracts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with electromagnetics specialization.
  • Experience with numerical methods for EM scattering (MoM).
  • Experience with FEM computational algorithms.
  • Knowledge of electromagnetic theory (Dyadic Green’s function, angular spectrum).
  • Strong proposal writing and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop computational electromagnetic algorithms for full-wave EM scattering.
  • Solve inverse problems to reconstruct scatterer permittivity.
  • Integrate wave physics with deep learning techniques.
  • Address inverse problems with both non-learning and learning approaches.
  • Interpret multiple scattering from a wave-physics perspective.
