Job summary

GE Aerospace Engine Services Singapore is seeking a safety-focused, hands-on manufacturing professional to manage vacuum and atmospheric furnace operations and complete heat treatment cycles on schedule.

You will work in a 12-hour rotating shift, monitor multiple heat-treatment processes, and ensure conformance to documented parameters while maintaining gear and furnace equipment in good condition.

Qualifications

• Minimum NITEC/Higher NITEC in Mechanical/Precision Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical/Precision Engineering.
• Able to read and understand the manufacturing operation sheets and standard operating procedures in English.
• 2+ years of furnace process experience.
• Willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and perform alkaline clean, pre-inspection of furnace, load & unload furnaces.
• Responsible for daily Heat Treat cycles and conformance to parameters.
• Monitor cycles for heat-treatment, brazing, stress relief, diffusion, ADH, bright anneal, and coating.
• Maintain tooling, fixtures, instruments, and furnaces in good condition.
• Understand High Risk Operations and emergency procedures during power HF events.
• Perform 12-hour rotating shifts and maintain quality records.

GEAESS is our largest site for engine component Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO), responsible for more than 60% of our global repair volume.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Set-up and perform alkaline clean, pre-inspection of furnace, load & unload a variety of manual, semi-automatic & automatic furnaces
• Responsible for the daily Heat Treat cycles performed and ensure that they conform to written parameters
• Monitor process cycles for heat-treatment, brazing, stress relieve, diffusion, ADH, bright anneal, and coating cycles on all types of materials and hardware
• Maintain tooling and fixtures, instruments, and furnaces in good operating conditions
• Understanding of High Risk Operation (HRO) and able to exercise emergency procedures during power failure and HF leak
• Required to perform 12-hours rotating shift
• Maintain pertinent records per Quality plan
• Operate hoist for loading/unloading of parts
• Perform scheduled maintenance & housekeeping tasks

The Ideal Candidate:

• A safety-focused, hands-on manufacturing professional with relevant engineering training, 2+ years of furnace process experience, and the ability to work independently on 12-hours rotating shifts.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Minimum NITEC/Higher NITEC in Mechanical/Precision Engineering or equivalent; or
• Diploma in Mechanical/Precision Engineering
• Able to read and understand the manufacturing operation sheets and standard operation procedures in English

Desired Characteristics:

• Independent with initiative.
• Handling of temperature measuring instrument.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering.
• 2 years in the vacuum and atmospheric heat treatment.
