Responsibilities:
- Perform ex-ante AML reviews on high-risk client onboarding, periodic and trigger reviews
- Review escalated alerts from first-line transaction monitoring, payment filtering and ongoing name screening controls
- Investigate relevant alerts and suspicious activities, and make relevant reporting to local authorities
- Support external requests include production orders, due diligence queries and any relevant regulatory reporting (e.g. Remote Gambling Act reporting)
- Act as an expert advisor to business and support functions on compliance and regulatory matters related to AML/CFT and international sanctions management
- Perform an annual AML/CFT Enterprise-wide Risk Assessment (EWRA) identifying risks and framework/control gaps to the attention of management and Group Compliance
- Assist with periodical risk-based design and operating effectiveness testing of first-line AML/CFT controls, including on lower-risk clients
- Represent Compliance as needed on financial crime related projects and initiatives
- Assist in the resolution of Compliance-owned management action plans from audits, inspections and Group reviews
- Produce relevant management information reports to board and senior management on the governance of financial crime risks
- Build and maintain a proactive and constructive relationship with business and functional stakeholders to ensure appropriate controls are in place for financial crime risk identification and management
- Keep abreast and understand the impact of new financial crime regulations and where needed, represent the Bank in industry consultations
- Support the Singapore AML Lead on all AML/CFT matters and any other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in law, banking or business
- Working knowledge of the CDSA, AML/CFT typologies, relevant MAS Regulations and Guidance on AML/CFT and the international sanctions framework
- Working experience of Singapore regulatory landscape and expectations needed. Familiarity with regulations and guidance in an AML, Financial crime Compliance role
- 4-8 years of relevant experience in AML/CFT compliance
- Prior experience in a similar role in a Private Bank will be advantageous
- Highly effective verbal and written communication and organizational skills
